Our trip to Texas

This is our experience about our trip to Dawn's in Arlington, Texas.

The weather man had been saying that a winter storm was coming--it could go south or north. If it went North Oklahoma wouldn't get much snow but if it went South then we would get more snow.

Russel had to work on Wed. the 23rd and when he got home he asked if I would like to go partway to miss the storm. So we hurried to get things in the car and etc. and left around 2:45p.m.. We had decided that the trip was to be our Christmas gifts to one another and we would go a new way to Tex. We went down l83 highway to 287 in Tex. When we got to the intersection turned right(West) to go into Vernon, Tx. for the night.

That night it started raining but I didn't think too much about it. But when we got up it was snowing so bad you couldn't see only about a half block. We went out to get some food at the United Store. And for the next 2 nights and days stayed in the motel because we couldn't go to Dawn's or get home. There was too much snow both ways.

Dallas,/Ft.Worth got snow on Christmas the first time in 80 years. We were in the motel but that wasn't all b ad. It had a small micro wave and small refrig so we could fix coffee and soup in a cup.

On Sat. the roads were closed toward Dallas from Wichita Falls so we came home. Okla. City had 14 inches of snow but the closer we got home the less snow we had.

It was different but I think the Lord just protected us from being stranded along the highway. God it so good.
